Quad & Buggy biking is fun - especially when it's off-road across our beautiful island of Boa Vista.
The quad & buggy trips are not guided by us personally, but we have selected a strong partner for you.
It is best to bring a face mask to protect you from dust. If necessary, you can also purchase a scarf from Quadzone for 5 euros.
Quad Zone - our partner for your quad & buggy trips
- Quad Zone is the most established provider of quad bike tours on Boa Vista, but also the largest - so you can expect the tours to take place in a relatively large group
- You benefit from very experienced guides who all speak English
- All trips - quad trip to the North, quad trip to the South & buggy trip - are taking place daily in the morning and in the afternoon - the only exceptions are May 1st, December 25th and January 1st - so you can choose your preferred date very flexibly
- You will be picked up at your hotel by a transfer from Quadzone and taken back to your hotel after the trip
Which requirements do you have to bring along?
The minimum age for drivers is 18 years, underage passengers must be at least 7 years old and need a declaration of consent from their parents.
Please have your driving licence number ready, it is not absolutely necessary to show your driving licence.
How does it all work?
You will be picked up from your holiday accommodation, then it goes to Rabil. First you will receive a detailed briefing, safety instructions and a test drive on the in-house course. You are
obliged to sign a declaration of liability in which, for example, it is pointed out that the instructions of the guides must be followed without fail and that, for example, no risky overtaking
manoeuvres are allowed.
After the tour you will of course be taken back to your hotel.
You pay for the tour directly on site before you start your journey. At Quadzone ypu can pay cash, but also credit card is accepted.
Tips and hints
Wear comfortable, insensitive clothing - you can be sure that ypu will get dirty. Also preferably sneakers or similar shoes are suggested. To protect yourself from dust, it is best to tie a cloth in front of your face. You can also buy this directly from Quadzone for 5 Euros. Do not underestimate the impassable terrain, follow the instructions of your guide and drive carefully, especially in the dunes. Take drinking water, sun cream and swimwear (for the south tour) with you, preferably in a small backpack.
Quad trip to the North with Quad Zone
After your briefing, you can set off straight away. This is what you will discover on the North Tour by quad:
- Village of Rabil with a stop at the pottery
- "Deserto Viana" - beautiful desert landscape
- Village of Bofareira - here you can buy cold drinks in a small bar with an attached souvenir store
- Cabo Santa Maria" shipwreck
- Capital Sal Rei with a short stop
- Return via the old cobbled road "Via Pitoresca" to the starting point
- Transfer back to the hotel
Quad trip to the South with Quad Zone
After your briefing, it's straight off. Discover this on the South Tour by Quad:
- On a paved road, you first go to the oldest village on Boa Vista to Povoacao Velha, short stop & possibility to buy cold drinks
- off road to the beach "Santa Monica"
- continue off road to "Varandinha" beach
- breathtaking drive through the dunes of "Morro d'Areia"
- Return to the starting point
- Transfer back to the hotel

Buggy trip
After your briefing, it's straight off. Discover this on the buggy tour with the buggy:
- through the village of Rabil towards the west coast
- behind the hotel "RIU Karamboa" over dusty tracks through the dry river bed to the restored chapel "Fatima" north of the capital Sal Rei
- After a stop, we head through the capital towards Estoril beach
- Photo stop on the large sand dune
- Return journey via partly paved and partly dusty roads to the starting point
- Transfer back to the hotel
